Unique

“FORGET TRENDY DESIGNER LABELS. JEANS, A SWEATER OR A T-SHIRT WORN UNDER A JACKET THAT SEEMS WELDED TO YOU. WHEN IT’S JUST RIGHT, WHEN YOU DON’T SEE THE EFFORT, IT’S IRRESISTIBLE.”

Graeme Mulcahy

Here is a sneak preview from the eyewear expert, Graeme Mulcahy's own line of sunglasses '09. These shades remind me of the fantabulous Cutler and Gross glasses. Unconventionally modern and stylish!

Leather Trip Wrap Watch

Last year I saw these leather triple wrap watches protruding stiffly down the Burberry Spring/Summer '09 mens runway show. I was totally blown away by them. I wanted them so badly, but they weren't available then. I looked for watches similar to these but they were either too feminine or extremely ugly. Now that they're available, I know what I want for my birthday. Price: 395 pounds.

''Previewed at the Burberry Prorsum men's runway show. Antique gold-plating case with military inspired dial and stone bridle leather inspired multi-wrap strap. Hour, minute hands and numbers in luminova. Water resistant to 3 ATM/30m. Swiss made.''

Russian Sasha

Long ago I saw these two pictures of this fifteen-year-old professional Russian Violist in V magazine, but he seems to be disappeared. There was a huge discussion about his ability of becoming a super-male-model. I wonder what he's doing now.

Yokoo's Knit Party!

''Yokoo is an accidental knitting wunderkind who resides in a magical place called Atlanta, where she chips away tirelessly and obsessively at creating weird and beautiful neckwear. She recently became internet-famous for her chunky, inspired wares and the cute self-portraits she uses to hock them to the masses. That’s right, she’s the nimble-fingered elf behind those massive chain-link scarves and mini-capes every girl you know has been fawning over. And she and her carpal tunnels thank each and every one of you. In less than two years she’s been able to quit her lousy retail job and dedicate every waking hour to turning her high school hobby into the launching pad for a handmade empire. Now that she’s got everyone’s attention, with back orders piling up, she’s adding new pieces to her line. That’s kind of nuts since she does it all by herself.'' says Vice.

She really is a breath of fresh air introducing new sensation and putting her stamp on it. I like her because I'm all about scarfs. I am always looking for enormous scarfs in exclusive colours and it looks like I have found them! The most unique thing about her is her funky style and the fact that she does everything by herself, from knitting to photography. You guys should really check out her little online shop on etsy!◆

Lola by Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs introduced a new fragrance called Lola. When I heard the name Lola it reminded me of how Lindsay Lohan's character called herself in the confessions of a teenage drama queen. I know I should be ashamed of such ludicrous act. Marc Jacobs said that he finds perfume an important part of life. He told Vogue that perfume is as important as accessories, shoes and bags. It doesn't only add flavour but it's a luxury everyone can afford. He likes the fact that he can offer more choices, because he likes to use a certain perfume depending on his mood. I'd say: It will definitely be something you can afford at his store without pretending you're in a museum.

Marc Jacobs described Lola as being 'sensual, flirtatious and warm spirited different than the sweet and innocent Daisy.' In other words it's the sexy old sister of Daisy. The odouriferous perfume consists of pink peppercorn, ruby red grapefruit, pear d'anjou, fuchsia peony, rose, vanilla, tonka bean and musk. Sounds delicious to me! The bottle shape differs per size. It will hit Bloomingsdale in August and it will be available in Holland in autumn.◆
